KKCCCI welcomes Rulers’ call to resolve 1MDB issue speedily

KOTA KINABALU: Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) president Datuk Michael Lui yesterday welcomed the Malay rulers call for the government to complete the investigation related to 1MDB as soon as possible and take stern actions against all those found to be involved.

Michael said it truly reflected the aspirations of the rakyat.

“We as citizens have the right to know the facts and truth of 1MDB issue, if the issue continues to prolong it will be difficult to convince the people and lead to a confidence crisis.

“We must try to save the world on Malaysia and negative image, reconstruction of the national economy in order to save the weak economy, the ailing ringgit exchange rate and improve the market conditions, to curb continuous decline on the ringgit exchange rate and suppress inflation.

“The government must be more aggresive in order not to let the people suffer, to reduce the pressure of life and alleviate the burden of the people,”Michael said.

He also thanked the Malay rulers for reminding party leaders and non-governmental organizations not to play with religious and racial issues and jeopardize national harmony.

Michael said it was very important, adding: “We must treasure the ethnic and religious harmony and solidarity that we established all the way since independence”.

“We hope that we can continue to enjoy peace, progress and prosperity of the country.”

Michael said that while our country was faced with severe challenges, he called on the Government and the people to work together, confront and resolve national crisis to ensure continued peace and prosperity.
