KINABATANGAN: A man died after being shot from behind while resting under his house at Kampung Usaha Jaya Batu 3 Jalan Pengkalan, near here, yesterday.
Kinabatangan OCPD, Supt A. Sahak Rahmat said there was a shot mark in the middle of the victim’s chest and his mother was aware of the incident.
He said that in the 5.43 pm incident, the victim and his mother were at the old house located behind the family’s new house.
“Initial police investigation revealed that the old house was surrounded by oil palm trees and shrubs,” he said here, today.
He said that before the shooting, the victim was resting under the house while his mother was in front of the house.
He said that shortly after, the victim’s mother heard the sound of a shot being fired from behind the house.
A. Sahak said the victim’s mother immediately rushed to the spot where the victim was and found that her son’s left hand was bleeding.
He said the victim was rushed to Kinabatangan Hospital with the help of villagers but was confirmed to have died.
A. Sahak said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code but no arrest had been made so far. -Bernama
