KUCHING: A charity run to raise money for Chung Hua primary and middle schools across this division will be held here on Nov 15.

It is run by the Kuching Chung Hua Middle Schools No 1, 3 and 4 Management Committee.

According to organising chairman Peter Ho, the run will start and end at Jubilee Ground and flag-off time is at 6.30am.

“This event is to raise awareness and gather more support from members of the public, students and ex-students from Chinese schools as well as to raise funds for Chung Hua Middle School and Chung Hua Primary Schools in Kuching.

“We are aiming to attract over 10,000 participants and officials to this event, which is divided into three categories; 10km, 5km and 3km run.

“We are expecting to see participation of students from all the Chung Hua middle and primary schools as well as alumni and various associations,” Ho said at a press conference and handover of sponsorship from Lea Sports Centre at Sarawak Plaza Shopping Complex yesterday.

The participation fees are RM30 per student and RM50 for other participant.

“The 10km run, which is open to all, offers RM500 for the winner, RM300 for the first runner-up and RM100 for the second runner-up. Members of the public who are interested can register through the Jogger Club Association,” Ho said.

Also present to witness the handover was Kuching Chung Hua Middle Schools No 1, 3 and 4 Management Committee chairman Richard Wee.
