MIRI: The 9-a-side YB Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi Utom Challenge Trophy Football Tournament on Nov 7-8 is offering attractive prizes of trophies, medals and cash to the winners.
According to organising chairperson Snek Bagat, the entries are limited to 24 teams on a first come-first serve basis.
“Participation fee is RM150 per team with the completed entry form. All entries must reach us by Nov 5,” she told The Borneo Post yesterday.
Meanwhile, the tournament is initiated by the PTA of SK Rumah Ranggong, Ulu Niah, Subis.
SK Rumah Ranggong headmaster Sawing Kedi, who is also the PTA advisor, said Assistant Minister of Public Utilities (Electricity and Telecommunications), Datuk Dr Stephen Rundi has agreed to finance the cost of the two-day affair and sponsor the prizes. Event sponsor is Empali Sami.
“Dr Rundi will officiate at the opening of the tournament at the school field,” Sawing said, adding that it was to raise funds for the school PTA and to keep the young away from social ills.
Sawing said there will be a food fair with coupons on sale from Oct 26.
