Twenty-eight dancers sit for ISTD exam

KUCHING: Twenty-eight Sarawak DanceSport Association dancers recently completed their Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) medallist examinations when ISTD Fellow Jill Bush was in town from Oct 13-14 to conduct the examinations.

The London-based ISTD is the oldest dance examining board in the world.

The programme was coordinated by Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF) sports director John Chong who is also a Fellow of ISTD and Sarawak ISTD Associate Trainers Randell Lim Xiu Zhen and Alexis Jap Hsiao Tding whose students were sitting for the examination.

According to Sarawak DanceSport Association president Chester Lim, its members are encouraged to keep abreast with their personal development of their dancing skills and knowledge and the ISTD syllabus training programme is good foundation to ensure good basics and fundamental grasp of the dances that include both Ballroom and Latin American genre.
