KUALA LUMPUR: Fifteen areas in Kuala Langat and Sepang are experiencing unscheduled water supply disruption due to high level of ammonia in the untreated water source since yesterday.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) Corporate Communication chief Amin Lin Abdullah said the Bukit Tampoi water treatment plant had to be shut down temporarily.

“It would be re opened when the ammonia level in the river water is under control,” he said.

The concessionaire has taken proactive action by delivering water in tanker lorries and static tanks to the affected areas.

The affected areas are Kampung Olak Lempit, Kampung Bukit Changgang, Kampung Labohan Dagang, Selangor Dredging, Taman Changgang Jaya, Kompleks Perabot Olak Lempit, Taman Arked and Taman Ambar.

Other areas are Taman Sri Dagang, Taman Topaz, Pusat Serenti, Kampung Sungai Manggis, Bandar Sungai Emas, Taman Seri Telok Datok and Kampung Orang Asli Bukit Bangkong in Sepang.
