KUCHING: Lee Kah Ming fired a two-day total of 148 gross to be crowned the new club champion at Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) last Sunday.

Two strokes behind in the KGS in-house competition was Abdul Rahim Abang Abdul Rahman while defending champion Mohammad Lokman Mustapha finished third three strokes further back.

The fourth to sixth spots were occupied by Helmi Hipni, Capt Norazle Idris and young gun Aaron Lau Zhun Min with 157, 158 and 159 strokes respectively.

Daily gross winners were Magit Semong (76) on Day 1 and Johari Aman (77) on Day 2.

The nett title went to Abang Ibrahim Abang Salleh who returned 142 strokes and second was Giannino Foo Chee Ming who beat Lincoln Leong Sze Hua on count back (OCB) after both returned a similar score of 143.

Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz Sahari lifted the Senior Club Championship gross title after he carded a two-day total of 157 strokes.

Bernett Ling Soon Kiong pipped Muas Sebli to second place OCB on 163 strokes and Mohamad Ashari was fourth after he beat Abu Bakar Kiprawi OCB, with both registering the same score of 164. Chih Ching Chuang finished fifth on 167 strokes.

The Senior Club Championship nett title was won by Wong Tai On who fired a 145 and Bong Tee Yen was declared the first runner-up OCB with Peter Sim Aik Kuan as both had similar score of 146.

Mohamad Ashari went home RM2,000 richer for having achieved a hole-in-one at Matang Hole 3 but there was no winner for a bigger prize at Matang Hole 8, a Lexus ES 250 car sponsored by Boulevard Jaya Sdn Bhd, Kuching.
