KUCHING: Thirteen members of Unimas Student Representative Council (SRC) were sworn in for 2015/2016 session at Rumah Universiti Unimas yesterday.

It was witnessed by vice-chancellor Profesor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi and other top management.

In his speech he said: “Time management is important. While you are busy with activities of the council, do not neglect your study. Only your academic result can secure you a bright future. Do not let any other things affect your study and your future.”

He also advised SRC members to work closely with the university management without any political influence from outside. He assured them that the university would do its best to support and guide them.

He also urged the student representatives to be mature and professional in their dealings.

He hoped that members would lead the students and contribute in developing the university. The council, he said, was as a ‘bridge’ to connect the students and the university management.

SRC president and Protocol Exco Basnel Guswindoo Basri, deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman, deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof Dr Kopli Bujang and deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and International) Prof Dr Wan Hashim Wan Ibrahim were among those present.
