Firemen clear the broken branches at Jalan Kim San.
SARIKEI: Professional services of firemen were needed to clear broken branches which fell on the electricity cables along Jalan Kim San here Tuesday.
Six firemen armed with chainsaws were involved in the operation with assistance from contract workers engaged by Sarawak Energy Berhad.
Senior fire officer, Haron Jenai, who led the operation, said electricity supply to the area had to be cut off to ensure their safety while carrying out the operation.
The broken branches are believed to be caused by strong wind which also damaged a house in the area a few days ago.
