Graduates of Segi College Sarawak receive scrolls at convocation

KUCHING: Four graduates of Segi College Sarawak received the Outstanding Student Awards for their academic excellence and contributions to the college and the society at the college’s convocation here yesterday.

The convocation also witnessed Khairil Nasrul Karim as the first graduate from the college awarded the Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) in Business and Human Resource Management from University of Sunderland, United Kingdom .

Segi University vice chancellor Professor Emeritus Dr Muhamad Awang presented scrolls to the graduates including 75 who received their Diploma in Nursing certificates.

Dr Muhamad reminded the graduates to continuously search for knowledge and skills.

“The truth is the more you learn the better equipped you will be to take advantage of the opportunities and challenges that come your way,” he asserted, pointing out that the college will always strive to produce thinkers.

“Segi College has for nearly 40 years been providing graduates with a solid foundation for a successful career and personal success and continues to move from strength to strength,” he said.

Meanwhile Segi College Sarawak chief executive Datu Putit Matzen said the college was continuously working and collaborating with internationally renowned universities to ensure that Sarawakians will be able to afford overseas degrees at a much lower cost.

According to him, the college now has Troy University as a partner in offering American Degree programmes to local students.

Also present at the convocation ceremony was University of Sunderland Associate Dean for International Development Chris Marshall.
