BINTULU: Maritime beat ABF Blue 2-1 to lift the Biport Bulkers (BBSB) Cup in the final at Stadium Muhibah here on Sunday.
The champions and runners-up of the annual futsal tournament received RM5,000 and RM3,500 respectively in cash prizes.
Maritime led 2-0 at half-time with goals from Muhammad Addli Che Husin and Muhd Afif Asyraf Muhd Halil. ABF Blue fought back with a second half goal from Ayub Ahmad but searched in vain for an equaliser.
Meanwhile, UITM Samarahan overcame defending champion H Kromo 2-0 for third spot.
Prizes were presented by BBSB chief operating officer Shamsuddin Ismail.
Earlier during the semi-finals, ABF Blue edged H Kromo 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out while Maritime thrashed UITM Samarahan 4-0.
The three-day tournament, which is into its fifth edition, was officiated by Bintulu Port Holdings CEO Datu Mior Ahmad Baiti Mior Lub Ahmad.
