Three Filipinos nabbed for breaking curfew in Semporna

SEMPORNA: The marine police have detained three Filipinos for breaking curfew in the waters off Gaya Island near here on Thursday.

Sabah marine police commander, ACP Mohamad Madun, said the three men, aged between 22 and 38, were detained during an operation at 3.30am. He said a marine patrol boat intercepted the boat in the area and found the three men did not have any permit for exemption from the curfew. They were then arrested for violating the curfew. Marine police also seized 13 empty jerry cans, three pump engines and Philippines currency worth about RM1,100 and Malaysian currency amounting to RM99,” he said. He said the trio were brought back to the marine police base for further action.
