KUALA LUMPUR: Public Relations consultant Paul Stadlen was not a government staff and, as such, was not paid a salary and allowance by the government, said the Prime Minister’s Department.

It said this in a written reply to a question from Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Segambut) in the Dewan Rakyat.

News portal ‘Sarawak Report’ had reported claiming that Stadlen had headed the communication team at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Stadlen, a permanent resident, had headed the Kuala Lumpur branch of Apco Worldwide, a Washington-based public relations firm with 29 branches around the world.

The Prime Minister’s Department, in the written reply, also said that Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Lim Kok Wing was also not paid a salary and allowance when he was the special programmes coordinator for the Prime Minister.

It said the scope of duties of national unity affairs advisor Datuk Heng Seai Kie included cooperating in the implementation of the vision and mission of the Department of National Unity and National Integration besides programmes to strengthen unity and social harmony. -BERNAMA
