KUCHING: A foreigner suffered serious injuries, victim of a hit-and-run when walking along Jalan Stutong Baru here yesterday.

The man in his 20s was found lying down in a semi-conscious state and bleeding from the head.

According to sources, the victim had earlier walked from Kuching International Airport (KIA) at around 1pm.

Members of the public rushed to his aid and called for an ambulance.

The victim was treated in the Emergency Unit of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and was in stable condition at the time the report was written.

The hit-and-run perpetrator has yet to come forward so anyone with information on this accident is requested to contact the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, in another case, a senior citizen encountered an accident at 16th Mile, Jalan Puncak Borneo here.

According to a source, the man was on his way to work around 7.30am yesterday when his motorcycle went out of control and skidded into the opposite lane, where it was rammed by another motorcyclist.

Members of the public rushed to help the two motorcyclists and waited with them for the ambulance.

“They were rushed to SGH but the man who crashed into the senior citizen was allowed to go home after receiving outpatient treatment,” the source informed.

Police investigated at the scene.
