MARUDI: The Penans are eager to receive development projects just like other communities in the state, noted Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Rural Service Centre (RSC) at Long Latei in Apoh on Wednesday, Dennis thus called on them to work closely with the Barisan Nasional (BN) government and its representatives on plans and projects to improve their livelihood. On the Rural Service Centre, the seventh such centre in the state, he reminded the Penans to take good care of it.

Meanwhile, Penan community leader Temenggong Datuk Hassan Sui, in his speech, said the Penans were now ready to cooperate with the government in implementing projects for them.

He told Dennis that many Penans had registered as PBB members and assured him that they would vote for him. The Rural Service Centre was declared open by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu.
