TENOM: Eight villages in Kemabong area each received a boat and 15 horsepower engines each from Kemabong assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang here yesterday.

The villages were Enubai, Paal Seberang, Pantungon Sapong, Maugus Balubung, Gumisi, Kuala Tomani, Lalandang and Kampung Kalasasan.

The assistance was handed over by Kemabong Community Development Leader Sukimin Rukini who represented Rubin at the presentation ceremony at Markas Kemabong here.

Sukimin said the boat and engines are to help the villagers prepare for the coming floods so that it would be easier for them to move to evacuation centres.

All the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairmen and village heads of the eight villages received the aid.

Also present were Kemabong Assistant District Officer Jasli Tindi and Kemabong Community Development Officer Alex Tay.
