KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will send a team to Thailand to interrogate Xavier Andre Justo on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

“They (Thai police) are now willing to welcome our officers to interrogate Justo,” he told reporters after a passing-out parade of cadet inspectors at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre here today.

Justo was sentenced to three years’ jail by a Bangkok Criminal Court on Aug 17 for blackmailing his former employer, PetroSaudi of 2.5 million Swiss Franc (RM11 million), using stolen documents.

The 49-year-old Swiss became the focus of attention in Malaysia, following cooperation between Petrosaudi and 1MDB.

On the meeting between PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Jacel Kiram, a daughter of a Sulu terrorist leader, the IGP said the police would also summon Batu Member of Parliament Tian Chua to help in the probe.

“The police recorded a statement from Nurul Izzah at (the federal police headquarters in) Bukit Aman yesterday and will summon Tian Chua soon.

We will continue to probe the matter for attempted sabotage,” he said.-BERNAMA
