More schools in Sarawak under 11th Malaysia Plan

KUCHING: A total of 42 new schools will be built in Sarawak under the 11th Malaysia Plan.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid who made this announcement, said his ministry had taken steps to ensure that suitable lands were identified to build the schools.

“We are also in the process of appointing the consultants to determine the building designs, job scope and also the contractors,” he said at the launching of SK Matu Baru today.

Mahdzir also announced that a total of 114 schools in the state that are currently powered using generators, can be connected to the electricity grid.
