REMBAU: A man and his pregnant wife were killed and their two-year-old son injured when the car they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with another at the 14.7km Jalan Seremban here early yesterday.

Khairul Anwar Tajjuddin, 34, and Murni Muhamat, 26, died on the spot in the 6am crash which saw their car plunge into a drain and turn-turtle.

The bodies of the couple, who sustained head and body injuries were pinned under the dashboard of the badly-wrecked Proton Persona.

Rembau Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Mohd Kassim Hassan said six firemen took almost an hour to extricate the bodies which were sent to the Tampin Hospital.

The couple’s son and the driver of the Honda Civic, who were not identified by the police were warded at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital with multiple injuries.

Rembau police chief, DSP Ibrahim Sharif confirmed the crash. — Bernama
