MIRI: Hockey teams from Sabah, Brunei and Peninsular Malaysia are invited to join those from Sarawak in a five-a-side tournament to be held at the Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) Miri on Dec 19 and 20.
Jointly organised by Warrior Hockey Club and Ministry of Social Development, the event will be held in conjunction with the Youth Transformation Carnival 2015.
Spokesman Rudy Naziri said the tournament will promote the sport as a healthy activity among youths.
“This will be a very good exposure and experience for the players to boost their self confidence, as well as prepare themselves for bigger hockey tournaments and events,” he added.
The tournament will have only one open category and teams can be a mix of men and women.
Prizes will be awarded to the top four teams.
Registration fee is RM30 per team. Closing date for registration is Dec 16.
