KAPIT: Kampung Baru residents are calling on the authorities concerned to repair a road leading from Jalan Suhaili to SK Kampung Baru.
A depression across the entire road has gotten significantly deeper due to lack of maintenance and now poses a danger, particularly to unknowing road users travelling down the slope.
“This is the access road to SK Kampung Baru. Everybody uses the road – parents, teachers and pupils use the road,” complained Penghulu Abang Hamzah Wasli.
“The sorrowful state was caused when the waterworks contractor carried out maintenance services recently. However, the road surface was never resealed to ensure road safety.”
He said villagers are very concerned and appealed to the authorities to act quickly to repair the damaged surface.
“Our concern is the safety of the road users and we call on the government agencies to act fast, especially since the school will reopen on Monday,” added Abang Hamzah.
