KUCHING: The Nanyang Wushu Federation of Sarawak will be launching the Nanyang 25th Wushu Festival 2016 at Crown Towers today at 7.30pm.
The honorary president of Nanyang Wushu Federation of Sarawak, Mr Tan Poh Seng, will officially launch the festival while this year’s calendar of events will be announced by federation chairman Prof Dato Sri Dr Song Swee Hee.
Neudimenxion and Crown Towers are the co-sponsors of this festival which was first started in 1991. This event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism , Ministry of Social Development and the Sarawak Tourism Board.
Members of the public can look forward to several special programmes which have been lined-up by the federation with other business organisations, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, the federation said in a press release yesterday.
The Nanyang Wushu ‘Chinese New Year’ Festival Show will be held on Jan 16 and the Nanyang Wushu ‘Golden Lion Dance Festival’ will be held on Jan 23 while the Nanyang Wushu ‘Chinese New Year Extravaganza’ will be held on Jan 30. All the events will be held at Crown Towers at 7pm.
Meanwhile, Instructor-in-chief of the federation, Prof. Dr Song said the Nanyang Wushu Lion Dance troupes will be visiting premises of patrons and supporters during the Chinese New Year.
