KUCHING: M-Girls are in town to promote their latest Chinese New Year song album entitled ‘Nian is Coming’.

M-Girls, Malaysia’s version of Taiwan girl band SHE, is a four-member girl group that was formed in late 2000, releasing mainly Chinese New Year albums.

The group comprises Queenz Cheng, Angeline Khoo, Crystal Ong and Cass Chin.

Yesterday, the group appeared as guest at Tea FM radio at Crown Towers building in Pending.

The group has visited Miri and Sibu, followed by Kuching yesterday and tonight (January 9) the group will be in Sri Aman before returning to Peninsular Malaysia.

M-Girls will be back in Sarawak on January 20 to appear at the Bintulu Time Square Megamall.

It has released its latest album consisting of 10 songs with two new self-composed songs namely ‘Nian Lai Le’ and ‘Fung Shou Ge’ which took them six months to complete.

The group made a special appearance at the ‘Chinese New Year2016 Concert’ held at the MJC Batu Kawah New Township last night.

The concert was jointly organised by Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Batu Kawa MJC Owner Association and TeaFM, with MJC City Development Sdn Bhd as the sponsor.

M-Girls have released over 17 albums including pop albums namely ‘Dance with Me’ in 2001, Playful Tricks in 2003, Silly Goldfish in 2004, Love Code in 2004, Nile River in 2005 and My Way EP/Mini Album in 2013/2014. Their albums are sold in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia, and the United States and in some other parts of the world.

All the girls were born in the same year 1986 with Queenz born on February 26, followed by Angeline on March 3, Cass on April 16 and Crystal on May 19.

All members started producing albums at the age of around six to 10 years old before the group was formed.

M-Girls were awarded best Chinese New Year album in the Malaysian Music Awards on May 23, 2015 for their 2013 Chinese New Year album reunion.
