Come in full force for Sejiwa Senada programme, people encouraged

SIBU: The people can show their support for Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem by turning up in full force today to witness the launch of Sejiwa Senada programme at Sibu Town Square.

Sibu Resident Hii Chang Kee said the programme was one aimed at enhancing the relationship between the people and the government.

He told reporters this yesterday when overseeing the rehearsal of various activities slotted for the soft launch. Hii was accompanied by Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau and Temenggong Stanley Geramong.

The official opening ceremony today is scheduled to commence at 9am, headlined by a showcase featuring the nation’s ‘King of Pop’ Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Noh Hujan, Ricky Andrewson and Astro Got Talent 2013 winner Esther Thian.

There will also be other activities lined up for the day including an automotive show, a colouring contest for pre-schoolers, a storytelling contest for primary and secondary school-children and a flower-arrangement competition.

In the evening, visitors will be treated to performances by various artistes such as Farawahida, Mark Adam, Eddy Kuwing, Jeffery Jack, Iwan Dasri and Bunyau & Mujab.

The Malay traditional ‘bermukun’ (singing, dancing and instrumental troupe) is scheduled to begin at 10pm.

At 7.30am tomorrow, Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee will flag off the ‘Walk A Mile’ and ‘Sejiwa Senada Run’. Other fitness and sports activities slated for the day will include wall-climbing, street soccer and three-a-side basketball competitions.

Local Government and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh will officiate at the closing ceremony, scheduled to commence at 7pm.
