Dengue attacked 648 killing six in Tabalong

TANJUNG, South Kalimantan: Dengue fever has caused six people died in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, from 648 cases found during 2015, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

Head of Desease Control and sanitation (P2PL) of the local Health Agency Akhmad Rivai in Tanjung on Wednesday said that dengue cases in still high in the district.

“Last year there were 648 people suffered from dengue and six of them died. Then in January 2016, one case of victim died of dengue,” he said.

The many cases of the virus outbreak from aedes mosquitoes, according to Rivai, caused by people behavior careless of the healthy of their environment and also of their high mobility.

If previously dengue fever spread in urban areas with a high enough density, such as Murung Pudak, Tanjung and Kelua, now it moves to the north part of Tabalong.

In Haruai Sub-district, for example, 17 people found with dengue this month. It never happened before, when dengue cases so low in this area.

Even one victim died in Suput Village, Haruai, from a total number of 49 dengue cases recorded by Health Agency.
