Satpolair investigate ABK killed in boat

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Banjarmasin Water Police Unit (Satpolair) is conducting an investigation into the death of a ship crew (ABK), when it docked in the Basirih Port, AntaranewsKalsel reported.

Satpolair head AKP Untung Widodo Sst in Banjarmasin on Tuesday said the crew who died in the room of KM Sabar Indah ship on Tuesday (26/1) morning was identified as Jakfar (59), a resident of Sumenep, East Java.

Jakfar found dead by a fellow crew member on board, who then reported the incident to the Satpolair Banjarmasin.

“We got a report from a crew then officers went straight to the ship which was docked in the harbor,” he said.

After seeing the condition of the man who died in the room in supine position and covered with blanket, police with crews evacuated the body to the Ulin General Hospital morgue.

“The body was evacuated to the mortuary for post-mortem to see if there are other background of the death of the victim,” he said.

From the results of examination of several witnesses, who also KM Sabar Indah crews, and strengthened by the results of the post mortem the man known died of natural causes and there is no trace of persecution in the body.

“There are no signs of violence on the body and can be sure that he died of his illness,” he said.
