KUCHING: BCS Contract & Supply Services Sdn Bhd (BCS) has ventured into the food and beverage (F&B) industry with the opening of the first Sugarbun outlet at Kuching International Airport (KIA).

BCS is in a joint venture (JV) with Goldfire Medic Sdn Bhd (Goldfire Medic) whereby the latter will manage the Sugarbun outlet at KIA.

Robert Song, chief executive officer of BCS, explained that they are working with Goldfire Medic because of the company’s vast experience in the F&B industry.

An established service company in Sarawak, BCS supplies equipment, machinery and manpower, as well as deliver logistics and installation solutions that are designed to help its customers succeed in their business.

For close to 15 years, BCS has provided engineering, construction and maintenance solutions to many companies in Borneo’s thriving oil and gas industry.

The latest addition to BCS’ range of services is Jet A1 fuelling, of which the group has obtained approval from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to operate throughout Malaysia. With its Bintulu, Sarawak-based station, BCS is poised to meet air fuel needs efficiently as the group will soon operate in all airports in Sarawak and also, Subang International Airport.

BCS is also supplying Jet A1 in oil drums and delivering them to hard-to-reach interiors in Sarawak and Sabah. The opening of Sugarbun at KIA, officiated by Song, Goldfire Medic managing director Yeo Seck Yong and KIA senior manager Mohd Nadzim Hashim, officially marked BCS’ penetration into the F&B industry.

With this as the stepping stone, BCS aims to open up more F&B outlets to other airports throughout Malaysia. Sugarbun’s opening hours at KIA is 5am to 11pm daily.
