KUCHING: Sarawak’s winning trail with two promising imports during pre-season matches in Vietnam is bringing the smiles to Sarawak Super League head coach Datuk K Rajagobal.

He was satisfied with the way that his team are shaping up after a pre-season friendly match against Ho Chi Minh FC in Vietnam on Wednesday in which they won 1-0. The goal was scored by Sarawak defender Hairol Mokhtar in the first half of the match.

Rajagobal said although the friendly was only a warm-up for the boys, they displayed much synergy throughout the match.

“I am very happy with the players who have been increasingly showing positive signs, especially in the understanding between each other and their confidence,” he said on Wednesday.

“I have observed that the players have successfully displayed in their game from what they have learnt in training sessions,” said Rajagobal who added that he was also happy with the performance of the two import players from Brazil and Costa Rica who are currently undergoing selection trial.

According to him, the duo have their own capabilities and quality which can contribute to the squad greatly.

“I will be using the final friendly match against Long An FC to assess the two import players before making my decision,” he added.

The win over Ho Chi Minh was the second victory for Sarawak after edging Becamex Binh Duong FC 2-1 last Saturday in other pre-season matches.

The Crocs were to play their final friendly match in Vietnam against Long An FC yesterday (Feb 29).
