KUALA LUMPUR: Over 100 cats today captivated the crowd at the roof of the Kuala Lumpur Tower as they paraded in style at the iconic Kuala Lumpur landmark.

Malaysian Cat Club president, Khalid Rashid said the two-day KL Tower Cat Show competition and Cats Fashion Show themed ‘An Evening in KL Tower’ which began today (Feb 1) was the first to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Tower.

“Apart from making the event different from previous shows, this location is deemed to attract more tourists as it will also coincide with the Federal Territories Day celebration tomorrow,” he told reporters here.

Additionally, he said cat owners stand to win in the Best Persian Cat Breed and Best Cage Decoration contests organised as part of the event.

A cat owner, Nurlyana Abdullah, 30, said she was excited to compete in the contest this time as the location was interesting and inviting.

“If not for this cat exhibition, my two favourite cats will never make it to top of this 421-metre high tower. Usually cat shows are held at shopping malls or convention centres but this time at this location, the show can definitely attract cat lovers and visitors as they can at the same time enjoy the best views of the capital from up here,” she said. – Bernama
