Investors urged to capitalise on cheap hydroelectric power in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak welcomes more investors to the state to take the full benefit from the cheap and clean hydroelectric power the state can offer.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem said more investors were coming to Sarawak because the state is capable of providing cheap and clean hydroelectric power similar to those offered by countries like Norway, Canada and New Zealand.

He said that currently there are over RM30 billion worth of investments already in the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu from local and foreign investors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony between Syarikat SESCO Bhd and Malaysian Phosphate Additives (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd here, today, the Chief Minister said Sarawak aimed to achieve high income by 2030 with its comprehensive industrial programmes.-Bernama
