KUCHING: The organiser of ‘Colour Rush Run 2016: Fun for Courage’ has re-opened the online registration for Kuching and Miri folks due to the overwhelming response it received from the public.

Organising committee member Afreeda Nawawi said the online registration was opened from Wednesday until Feb 7.

For Kuching, the Colour Rush Run will take place at Padang Merdeka at 7am on Feb 21.

“The re-opened online registration is only for Kuching and Miri divisions. To date, we have received registration of 3,200 people from Kuching and close to 2,400 people from Miri.

“We would like to express our high appreciation for the support that the public give to us and we are excited to meet everyone soon at the event,” she told the press on Wednesday.

For Miri, the run will take place at the Marina Bay on Feb 28. In Sibu, it will be held at One Malaysia Cultural Village on March 13.

The run comes with two categories this year – 5km fun run and ‘Kids Dash’.

So far, around 50 children have registered for the ‘Kids Dash’ category.

According to Afreeda, the Colour Rush Run morning workout will be led by Wild Warrior Fitness Studio, a boutique concept fitness studio that caters to women and children.

Besides, there will be special performances by Momentum Studio after the run, so participants could sit back and enjoy themselves.

Also, participants can capture their moments during Colour Rush Run at a photo booth where they can get their photos printed on the spot with WePrint, sponsored by Keris Sakti Sdn Bhd.

The run is organised by the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) and supported by OurYouth.my and Lea Sports Centre.

It is aimed to create awareness of childhood cancer amongst the public and to show support to the children battling childhood cancer and their families.

The theme ‘Courage’ is in honour and support of the children battling childhood cancer and their families.

The fee for the charity run is at RM50 per person which includes a tee-shirt, finisher headband, cotton candy, bubble and tutu.

The main sponsor for the event is Ibraco Berhad, while Revive is the official isotonic drink, and Starsport as the official drinking water.

SoundArt is the official sound, the Shots Photography is the official photographer, and Keris Sakti as the official photo printer.
