MARUDI: Support for SPDP in Marudi constituency has been increasing since Sept last year which is proven by the large crowds attending leaders-meet-the-people gatherings held by SPDP leaders.
SPDP Youth chief Cr Robert Ayu, who made this observation, said the supporters came on their own because they wanted to hear what SPDP under BN could do for them.
“Though we didn’t give them petrol money nor arranged for buses to transport them, they still came. Nor did we provide them with T-shirts. But they came in full force,” he said when speaking at the SPDP leaders-with-the-people gathering at Rumah Larek Mat, Bukit Jelutong in Lapok recently.
He said the big crowds showed that the people had realised that SPDP was serious and capable of addressing their problems which had been neglected by the incumbent assemblyman for the past 20 years.
He called on the people to rally behind SPDP in the coming state election for a bright future.
He also told them not to vote for the opposition and was glad that some members of PKR had joined SPDP.
He also called for cooperation from members of other BN component parties to support the SPDP candidate in Marudi to ensure BN’s victory.
SPDP-nominated BN candidate for Marudi, Datu Dr Penguang Manggil, officiated at the programme.
