SIBU: Arrangements of banknote flowers are still a popular gift here for loved ones to mark Valentine’s Day today.
Florist Kathy Sim said although fresh flowers are still ideal for a Valentine’s Day bouquet, it is quite common to get orders for banknote bouquets.
“Such a trend has been around for a number of years, but here it is still a popular trend among most of the romantic local gentlemen,” she said yesterday.
Sim, who has been a florist for 18 years, said normally customers would book gifts around a week before Valentine’s Day.
“We normally suggest to our customers to use the red colour banknotes for their vibrant red colour.
“However, we are flexible to our customers’ personal taste as some of them preferred the RM50 note or RM100 note,” she said.
Sim said due to high demand for Valentine’s Day, she extends her opening hours.
“We also have lots of lovely fresh flowers that would definitely spark unforgettable sweet fond memories which can be kept for a lifetime,” she said.
“If we compare to 18 years ago, now our customers have lots of choice with the bouquets of flowers. They can either blend flowers with soft toys, flowers with chocolates or in the forms of currency note flowers,” she added.
