LAWAS: State BN chief and PBB president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem is the foremost person in fighting for Sarawak’s rights and the needs of Sarawakians.

This contrasts with the opposition’s stand to review the state’s immigration power if they capture Putrajaya.

PBB senior vice-president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, who is Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment, said this in his keynote address to members of the PBB election machinery for Bukit Kota and Batu Danau in Limbang yesterday.

“The task is clear-cut – a strong mandate and voice for our Chief Minister and BN led by PBB for a harmonious, progressive and strong Sarawak,” he said.

He said the party’s election machinery was battle-ready and would not take lightly attacks from the opposition in the coming state election.

“Do not take for granted victory for BN but work hard to return our candidates with resounding majority as show of support for our party president and chief minister,” he stressed.

He expected an influx of leaders and supporters of the opposition parties from Peninsular Malaysia in the coming state election who would be aggressive in highlighting issues.

He called on the election machinery to ensure that all BN candidates are returned as the whole objective of holding the state election is forming the state government.

Earlier on, Bukit Kota assemblyman and branch chairman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said they were ready for the state election and to ensure that BN is returned with a strong mandate as support for Adenan’s leadership and fight for greater autonomy and rights of Sarawakians.

“We are warriors and will fight all out for BN’s victory,” he said.

PBB permanent chairman and State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Awang Mohammad Asia Awang Nassar, Limbang MP Hasbi Habibolah and Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong were present.
