263 flood victims housed in 4 relief centres in Bau, Padawan

KUCHING: A total of 263 flood victims are housed in four relief centres in the Bau and Padawan districts as at 2pm today (Feb 20).

Sarawak Civil Defence Department public relations officer Siti Huzaimah Ibrahim said the four relief centres were opened this morning following continuous rain that caused several villagers to be flooded.

“In the Bau district, the relief centre at St Mary Church, Kampung Bogag houses 27 victims from six families while the Kampung Bijuray hall, Krokong houses 12 victims from three families.

“In the same district, the relief centre at Kampung Kaman hall, Krokong houses 17 victims from five families,” she said when contacted by Bernama.

Siti Huzaimah said in the Padawan district, the relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan St Peter in Kampung Bunuk houses 207 victims from 74 families. – Bernama
