KUCHING: ‘You don’t have to be a doctor to save lives. Just donate blood – It’s safe, it’s simple and it saves lives’, is the new slogan adopted by Malaysian Red Crescent, Stampin Chapter for its blood donation campaign during the two-day ‘Borneo Post International Education Fair’ at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) recently.

The campaign was hosted by members of the SMK Kuching Town No. 1 Youth Unit, one of the most active Youth Units under the Stampin Chapter Red Crescent.

A spokesman for the Stampin Chapter Red Crescent thanked the blood donors who had braved the heavy rain and the flood that hit Kuching City during the fair to save lives.

“A total of 87 pints of blood were collected for Sarawak General Hospital during the campaign. We also thank The Borneo Post for giving the Chapter the opportunity to play its role to save lives,” the spokesman said in a press statement yesterday.

Stampin Chapter Red Crescent is committed to saving lives by holding regular blood donation campaigns.

The target is new and young blood donors.

The Chapter encourages its young volunteers to man blood centres, organise blood donation campaigns, learn about healthy lifestyles, and donate blood to save lives. Through participation in blood donation activities, members can make friends and have fun while saving lives.
