KUCHING: The Chief Minister’s Department (State Human Resource Unit) has put up an advertisement on the availability of 100 vacancies in the state civil service in both in The Borneo Post and See Hua Daily News.

Sarawakians are invited to apply for the posts of Grade 41 administrative officers which are non-pensionable with basic salaries ranging from RM1,910.02 to RM2,216.64.

The advertisement, placed on Page C8 of The Borneo Post Classified, among others stated the required qualification as government accredited Bachelors Degree or equivalent from local or overseas universities.

The other requirement is that applicants must have a minimum pass grade for Bahasa Malaysia in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).

State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Morshidi Abdul Ghani, when contacted, said the recruitment system would be a fair one as the state civil service did not practise quota system.

“It is a fair system open to all UEC and non-UEC graduates on the same playing field and we never practise quota system in the civil service.

“The UEC holders can contribute to the state civil service and they can be as good as others or even better with the right working attitude to ensure excellent service being delivered to the people,” Morshidi told The Borneo Post yesterday.

On whether the recruitment of these 100 new staff would be affected by the recent federal policy of cutting down costs and putting on hold recruitment of new staff for civil service, Morshidi said the recruitment was a state initiative.

“These are state posts in the state civil service such as ministries and departments and open to all who are qualified, including those UEC holders who meet the necessary requirements,” clarified Morshidi.

“These 100 state posts are all non-pensionable posts. Pensionable posts are posts under the jurisdiction of the federal government and subject to federal requirements,” he added.

Those who are qualified and interested in the 100 posts can submit their applications online via e-Recruitment. The closing date is Mar 24, 2016.
