SIBU: The General Operations Force (GOF) here believed they have crippled a syndicate involved in the sale of illegal subsidised diesel with seizures valued at RM526,000.

A spokesperson for the GOF 10th Battalion, ASP Juvrinh Adrian Labungan, who also led the raiding party, said they raided a premises in Kampung Baku, Km 2 Mukah Road for suspected illegal storing of subsidised diesel at 3pm Tuesday.

Upon inspection, they found two lorry tankers inside the premises while diesel was being siphoned from one of the lorries to a plastic tank believed to be sold to the owner of the premises.

Also found inside the premises were 20 plastic tanks filled with subsidised diesel. Each tank contained 1,000 litres of the commodity, Juvrinh said.

They arrested a man, aged 49, believed to be the premises owner and two lorry drivers aged 39 and 35.

They also seized the lorry tankers, 20 plastic tanks filled with diesel, four 1,000-litre empty plastic tanks, a fuel pump, one 40,000-litre empty tank and one 10,000-litre empty tank.

The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism office in Mukah.

A police report was meanwhile lodged at Selangau police station on March 9.
