TAWAU: The Immigration Department detained 11 people including three employers in an operation at three premises, on Wednesday night.
Its district chief Noraini Rasi said those detained were two Indonesian men, five Indonesian women, one Filipina and three employers.
She said eight of them had been detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for not having any travelling documents or identification documents, while three were detained under Section 55(b) of the same Act for employing workers without any documents.
The operation started at 8.30pm and ended at 1am and the premises checked were Roof Garden Caf L.A Hotel, L.A Hotel and CK Karaoke.
