SIBU: PBB Youth wing Zone 12 Sibu will stage its Youth Carnival 2016 from tomorrow till April 9 to connect and build stronger rapport with the younger generation.

Its chairman Abdul Ghani Sulhi says it is being organised in collaboration with Nangka Service Centre.

The curtain raiser will be a two-day business and entrepreneurship seminar, beginning tomorrow at Sibu Civic Centre.

“The primary objective is to produce more Bumiputera entrepreneurs while empowering the existing ones with knowledge to build up their businesses or set up new businesses.

“Our target is 200 participants. 178 have registered,” Abdul Ghani told a press conference here yesterday, adding that registration could be made at the service centre.

Among the agencies involved in the seminar are CIDB, District Office and Sibu Municipal Council (SMC).

PBB Zone 12 Sibu comprises five PBB branches, namely Nangka, Dudong, Bukit Assek, Pelawan and Bawang Assan.

Abdul Ghani said Green Park X Games 2016 at Sibu Town Square Phase 2 would be held on March 26, with classic cars and bikes show slotted on the same day.

“On that day, we will distribute 200 helmets for free to visitors.”

An agromuda seminar would be held on March 27 at MUC Hall, he said.

He, however, said the date for ‘Jelajah Armada Kemenangan Pemuda PBB Sarawak’ had yet to be confirmed.

He said there would be several activities on April 9 such as the final of Nangka futsal tournament and ‘Gotong-Royong’ Pemuda PBB Zone 12 Sibu.

The ‘gotong-royong’ will be held at Masjid An-Nur, Gudwara Sahib, Hindu Temple and Iban Methodist Church.

“The highlight will be the PBB Youth wing’s solidarity night at Kingwood Hotel on April 9.

“State PBB Youth chief Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who is Works Minister, is expected to officiate at the function,” Abdul Ghani said.

Meanwhile, Bob Azahary Hardi from IV Division X Games, the organiser of Green Park X Games 2016, said there were three categories, namely BMX, aggressive in-line and skate board.

Among those present at the press conference were youth chiefs of the five branches, namely Datuk Mohd Yusnar Matalie (Bukit Assek), Junaidi Sambang (Pelawan), Sammy Dennis (Bawang Assan) while Nangka was represented by its secretary Rafiq Nur Adli Razali.
