AFP Relaxnews: “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling has publicly aired two rejection letters she received for her first novel using the pseudonym “Robert Galbraith” in a bid to encourage young writers to persevere against the odds.

Rowling, who has since written three books under the pseudonym — the Cormoran Strike series: “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” “The Silkworm” and “Career of Evil” — was initially turned away by two publishing companies, which she has now named as Constable & Robinson and Creme De La Crime.

The author published the rejection letters Friday, March 25, but stressed that she had made the documents public “for inspiration, not revenge, so I’ve removed signatures.”

Commenting on her motivations behind the move, she also tweeted that had pinned her first rejection letter to my kitchen wall “because it gave me something in common with all my fave writers!” NME reported.
