KUCHING: Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) will launch Vista Perdana Phase 2 at 1pm today at Desa Bahagia, Bandar Baru Permyjaya, Miri.

In conjunction with the sales launch, the public can view the show unit as well as join exciting lucky draws.

According to SPNB’s Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Ahmad Azizi Ali, Phase 2 offers a total of 789 units of properties comprising single-storey terraced houses, single-storey semi-detached houses and single-storey bungalows, with prices starting from RM188,000.

“So far the response has been very encouraging.”

In Kuching, SPNB’s upcoming project is the Vista Wawasan mixed development.

“This development is located at Jalan Sultan Tengah, Kuching. It offers a total of 1,553 units combining residential and commercial properties. We are

also very excited with this development and more information will be provided in due course,” he said.

Azizi said although SPNB homes are cheaper, buyer satisfaction and comfort are still of utmost importance.

“We remain committed to building cheaper and affordable homes of good quality, in line with the government’s efforts in this regard. Our Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building

affordable housing, with more resources being allocated for this purpose by the Ministry of Finance,” he said.

“In terms of our products, we offer a wide range of products based on different levels of affordability and preferences such as Rumah Mesra Rakyat for the lower income group and Rumah Idaman Rakyat for the middle income group. We also have an attractive scheme for first-time home owners. Our developments comprise of residential developments and mixed developments as well,” he said.

Since its inception in 1997, SPNB has built almost 90,000 houses nationwide, 58,163 of which were affordable homes, with more than 8,000 units currently under construction.

“We commenced our involvement in Sarawak in 2004 and completed our first medium-cost apartment in Kota Samarahan called Vista Ilmu in 2010. We also managed to complete our first development in Miri comprising medium-cost houses called Vista Perdana

Phase 1 later that year. In fact, our Vista Perdana Phase 1, which offered 963 units, was sold out about a year and a half upon launching,” he said.

SPNB has built more than 3,600 affordable homes in Sarawak, with another 5,270 units to be built in Miri and Kuching.

Meanwhile, among those excited over the Vista Perdana Phase 2 launch is Adeling Tiong, who intends to purchase a unit.

Tiong said she had compared a few affordable housing schemes before deciding on SPNB.

“I found that SPNB’s scheme is more affordable and terms and conditions for purchase are less restrictive, making it easier to buy a property. Some other schemes involve a lengthy application process and various conditions before the house purchase application can be approved,” she said.

Azwani Kassim was in search of an affordable property he could call home when he came across SPNB’s Vista Ilmu development in Kota Samarahan.

“I had a hard time finding a property which suited my affordability at the same time providing me a good quality of life. I found out about SPNB’s Vista Ilmu apartment development back in 2013, with the price range of between RM89,500 and RM99,500.

“With the affordable prices, especially for the low income group and excellent property management by SPNB, it was very satisfying. Thank you SPNB and well done!” he said.

Eyor Timbang, who purchased a house at SPNB’s Vista Perdana Phase 1 in Miri, said the development is strategically located.

“It is located in proximity to a commercial area and complete with modern facilities and amenities. As this development is more or less in the suburban area, it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where one can come home to a relaxing environment,” he said.

Fellow Vista Perdana Phase 1 buyer Wong Kiing Ung said SPNB developments provide a good balance between affordability and lifestyle.

“With the increase in cost of living currently and high prices of residential properties, many people can’t afford to own a decent house. By offering products of affordable prices and good quality, SPNB’s developments are indeed a blessing,” said Wong.

SPNB is a government-owned organisation responsible for implementing affordable housing programmes nationwide.

A pioneer in the development of affordable homes in Malaysia, SPNB has a solid track record of 19 years.
