SIBU: A total of RM100,000 was raised during ‘UCTS Era Charity Concert’ held at the compound of University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS) here on Saturday night.
The proceeds would be channelled to five charitable bodies across the state.
The initial target was to raise RM50,000 but thanks to the caring people here who had chipped in generously, the amount increased. The event’s guest-of-honour Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee donated another
RM10,000 to make the total RM100,000.
The five charitable bodies to receive the proceeds would be the Sarawak Orphans Welfare Organisation (Peryatim) centres here and in Kuching, Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) Kuching, Rumah Seri
Kenangan Sibu, and Sibu Agape Centre.
The UCTS compound was packed with fans coming to see their favourite artistes in the likes of Misha Omar, MOJO, Altimet, Farah Farhanah and Eyza Bahran, who were brought by Era FM.
Apart from the great performances, there were also games all set up for the sporting audience.
