KUCHING: The first professional safe deposit box service is now available for customers to store valuable items at a low annual fee.
The annual rental rate for a safety box with a dimension of 5” x 5” x 24” is RM365, 5” x 10” x 24” (RM730), and 10” x 10” x 24”(RM1095).
“Each safety box will also be covered by insurance at a minimum RM20,000 through an international insurance provider,” said Laigrow Holdings Sdn Bhd director Dato ‘D’ Raja Lai Kah Chun at the launching ceremony yesterday.
He said their services were the first of its kind here, and there would be 1,080 safety boxes for rent.
“Our vault and security rooms are professionally designed and equipped with an accurate and secured biometric fingerprint control system.”
The facility, he assured, was also fully secured as the walls are made of concrete and a steel plate enclosure while the vault doors are approved and certified by Sirim and Firim.
He said customers would need to go through four security checks and verifications to access their deposit boxes.
Security guards would be present round-the-clock and other security features included infra-red CCTV surveillance and a burglar and a fire alarm system.
In conjunction with the launch, Lai said customers who opted to rent the safety boxes for three years starting this month would automatically get another year’s rent for free.
