Sarawak a 2-1 win over Penang

KUALA LUMPUR: Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) claimed back the lead in the Super League after coming from behind to notch a 2-1 victory against Perak at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin tonight.

The win put the Southern Tigers with 16 points after six matches.

In tonight’s action, the star-studded side received a jolt when Elias Fernandes Oliviera put Perak ahead in the 17th minute before Argentinian import Juan Martin Lucero scored two goals in succession, from a penalty in the 47th minute and five minutes later.

Selangor retained their third spot in the league after playing to a 2-2 against Kedah at the Selayang Stadium.

The Red Giants’ goals were scored by R.Gopinathan (30th) and Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh (31st ) while Kedah’s by Mohd Syazwan Zainon (7th) and Sandro da Silva (67th).

At the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu FC II defeated Kelantan 4-2.

The Titans goals were netted by Dilshod Sharofetdinov (19th, 71st), Patrick Dos Santos Cruz (38th ) and Makan Konate (47th) while Kelantan’s from an own goal by Mohd Kamal Azizi Mohd Zabri in the 27th minute and Baze Ilijoski (39th).

At the City Stadium in Georgetown, J.Partiban’s strike in added time of the second half gave Sarawak a 2-1 win over Penang.

Earlier, Matias Cordoba had put Penang ahead in the 26th minute while Gilmar Jose da Silva equalised for Sarawak in the 58th minute.

Meanwhile, Pahang FC went down 0-2 to Police at the Darul makmur Stadium in Kuantan.

Singaporean import Mohd Safuwan Baharudin and Ali Ashfaq were on the mark for The Cops in the 38th and 75th minutes (penalty) respectively. — BERNAMA
