KUALA LUMPUR: The prosecution will prove the involvement of seven men in the murder of deputy public prosecutor Datuk Anthony Kevin Morais starting from his handling of the case of military pathologist Colonel Dr Kunaseegaran, at the Shah Alam Sessions Court, said Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Datuk Abdul Razak Musa.

He said the prosecution would also prove their actions to look for an oil drum and cement and placing them in front of a stall belonging to the second accused, G Gunasekaran, at No 1, Jalan USJ 1/6, Subang Jaya.

“The deceased was placed inside the oil drum and left overnight,” said Abdul Razak in his opening remarks on the first day of the trial of the murder case before High Court Judge Datuk Azman Abdullah.

He said that evidence would also be presented that on Sept 5, 2015, the sixth accused, S Nimalan, with the third accused, R Dinishwaran, and seventh accused, S Ravi Chandaran, had obtained the service of a forklift to carry the oil drum containing the body of the deceased and dumping it into a swamp not far from Gunasekaran’s stall.

Abdul Razak said the prosecution would also submit evidence that Gunasekaran, with Nimalan and Ravi Chandaran, on the same night, (Sept 4, 2015) had driven Kevin Morais’ Proton Perdana car bearing registration number WA6264Q to an oil

palm estate in Hutan Melintang, Perak and had set it ablaze.

The prosecution, he said, would also prove that all the accused except for Dr Kunaseegaran, had gathered at the Syed Bistro Restaurant, Petaling Jaya in the early morning of Sept 4 before moving to Jalan Dutamas to await and tail Kevin Morais after he left his apartment to go to his office in Putrajaya. — Bernama
