KAPIT: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Pelagus, Wilson Nyabong Ijang will focus on developing infrastructure, utilities, education and the economy if he is elected.

Nyabong, from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), said as the new seat of Bukit Goram has been carved out of Pelagus, the constituency is now smaller.

“So with the new seat, less population, smaller area but the budget is still the same as before. It means more for the people,” he said during the launching of the BN-PRS Pelagus election machinery on Thursday at Rumah Daniel Dian, Nanga Baki.

“I plan to have a round table that’s to call all the intellectuals and educated, professionals, government departments, private sector and business community to sit down with me, once elected, to discuss what is best for Pelagus people in general. So, that’s my vision and mission for the area.”

Nyabong also appealed to all voters to unite to ensure a win for BN.

A political secretary to the chief minister, he holds an Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management (CILT-UK) and Electrical Power Engineering from Mara Technical Institute, Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, PRS president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing said the power is in the hands of the constituency’s 7,207 voters.

“Make sure you choose the BN candidate to represent us. Pelagus folk must have learnt your lesson because you voted wrongly five years ago. So don’t make the same mistake, otherwise we will suffer,” he said.
