UPP candidates celebrating their nominations at today’s press conference at Wisma Bapa.
KUCHING: State BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem has announced five direct candidates out of which two are new faces.
The two new faces are businessmen Datuk Hii King Chiong for Pujut and businessman Datuk Pau Chiong Ung for Tanjung Batu.
Pau was announced as Tanjung Batu candidate representing SUPP.
Out of the five direct candidates, two of these candidates are defending their seats for BN – Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh will be defending Bawang Assan and Ranum Mina, Opar.
Datuk Tiong Thai King will be competing for the Dudong seat.
Adenan made the announcement at a press conference at his office at Wisma Bapa this afternoon (Apr 13), after meeting them this morning at 10.30am.
Present at the press conference were Mambong direct candidate for Mambong Datuk Dr Jerip Susil and Engkilili candidate Dr Johnical Rayong whose candidacy was announced by Adenan much earlier on.
All these candidates except Pau were UPP leaders but had resigned from their party to stand as direct BN candidates.
Pau was an SPDP member and is resigning from the party to stand as an SUPP candidate.
