SARAWAK STATE ELECTION: Adenan announces five more BN candidates

SIBU: State BN chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem has today (April 14) announced five more candidates who will be using the BN symbol this coming polls, of whom two are direct BN candidates.

Heading the list was Dato Kapitan Janet Lau for Pelawan and Tan Sri William Mawan for Pakan, both of whom will be fielded as direct BN candidates.

Lau was the UPP Pelawan chief while Mawan was Teras president.

The other three are from SPDP – Kilat Briak (Krian), Rolland Duat (Meluan) and Willie Liau (Ba’Kelalan).

He made the announcement at a press conference after the Sejiwa Senada programme organised by RH group here today.

With the chief minister’s latest announcement, BN now has named 79 candidates, leaving three seats, namely Meradong, Tasik Biru and Marudi whose candidates have yet to be revealed.

Present at the press conference were Second Finance Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, and Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) Chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King.
