KUCHING: Tangerine Malison was the ‘belle of the ball’ during the ‘Miss Beautiful Eyesight’ showcase, run by Eyesight Optic at the Summer Mall on Saturday.

The 19-year-old was among the 13 finalists of Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2016, organised by Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) as part of the annual World Harvest Festival (WHF) this year, with support from the state Tourism Ministry and federal Tourism and Culture Ministry.

She received the most votes from members of the public during the special presentation, where all pageant finalists were dressed in traditional costumes provided by SCV. For this, Tangerine took home products and cash vouchers sponsored by Eyesight Optic.

The rest of the parade were 19-year-old Haziqah Hamdan, Stephanie Elizabeth (22), Morgan Christincey (24), Kedung Ballang (21), Catherine Luweny (22), Trisdewi Trisno (24), Priscilla Christopher (23), Nur Ashima Affendi (23), Darline Barie (23), Emily Sara (19), Amanda Jane (22) and Nur Haziah (22).

Winner for the Miss Beautiful Eyesight Optic will be announced during the grand final of the pageant at SCV on May 1, alongside that of other subsidiary titles, namely Miss Metrojaya, Miss Fitness, Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent, Miss Dzarea and Miss Dazzling Smile.

The pageant and the live staging of local legends will be the highlights of WHF 2016 at SCV, running from April 29 to May 1.

This year, the organiser will hold the grand presentation of ‘Dayang Bulan – The Moon Princess’ – an adaptation of a Kelabit folklore – on May 1.

Other exciting events are the Ironman WHF 2016 competition, Sarawak Kitchen Food Festival and a ‘sape’ concert.

Early bird tickets are on sale at RM30 per person.
